THE PATH AND THE FOUR STEPS OF THE MILLE MIGLIA

The next day, Thursday, May 17, after the passages in Pesaro and the Republic of San Marino and the crossing of magnificent locations such as Arezzo, Cortona and Orvieto, the second stage will bring competitors to Rome, for the usual night walkway in Rome , much appreciated by competitors and the public. Friday 18, the route from the capital will remain almost unchanged until Siena. Among the novelties of the 2018 edition, there will be the transition to Lucca and along the Versilia. After the restoration of the old road, the Mille Miglia will finally be able to cover the 1949 edition, between Sarzana and Passo della Cisa. Including the re-evocative editions, 1949 was the only year in which the Red Arrow crossed the Cisa: that of the 2018 year will therefore be an expected return of 59 years. The third stage will be concluded again in Parma, which the past few years has always reserved an enthusiastic reception at the Freccia Rossa: from here, on Saturday morning, the caravan will return to Brescia, Going back towards the arrival, the long caravan of the Red Arrow will cross Lodi, continuing towards the North. Taking note of the extreme approval of both the crews and the very large public, the Mille Miglia will return to play some tests inside the Monza National Circuit to then continue through Bergamo and Franciacorta, continuing the promotion of the territory of Brescia started with Garda two days before. With the exception of some updates related to safety in the race, for which 1000 Miglia Srl always has great attention, no new feature is provided for the regulation of the race, which remains unchanged in the sport, including the coefficients, identical to last year .

CARS RUNNING TO THE MILLE MIGLIA

The registrations will open on October 24th: filling out the forms and data on the website www.1000miglia.it, all the owners of a car with the required requisites will be able to present their candidacy to participate in the thirty-sixth re-enactment of the “most beautiful race in the world”. The cars of which at least one specimen has been registered in the Mille Miglia di Velocità (1927-1957) can be entered in one of the models on the list of cars that can be submitted on the website. 440 cars will be admitted to the race: in order to be selected, the cars entered must have at least one of these documents: Fiche ACI-CSAI (Italian Automobile Sports Commission), Htp FIA (Historic technical passport issued by the Fédération Internationale de l’Automobile ) or ID FIVA (Identity Card of the Fédération Internationale des Véhicules Anciens). The cars registered will be selected by a special commission, made up of experts appointed by 1000 Miglia Srl and by international technical commissioners of the FIVA Technical Commission. Registration will close at 11:59 pm on January 4th 2018 (Italian time).
